Sarah Palin Kelly Ayotte Endorsement
Sarah Palin's Endorsement In New Hampshire Senate Race Includes Geography Goof

CONCORD, N.H. — Sarah Palin incorrectly calls Alaska's Kodiak Island the largest island in America in a Facebook post endorsing a Senate candidate in New Hampshire.

The Big Island of Hawaii is about 440 square miles larger than Kodiak, where Palin and her family were headed Monday.

In endorsing Republican candidate Kelly Ayotte (AY'-aht), Palin also strayed a bit from the facts in praising her for having "won" a case before the U.S. Supreme Court.

As state attorney general, Ayotte defended a law requiring parental notification for teenagers seeking abortions. But it was repealed after the U.S. Supreme Court sent it back to a lower court.

Ayotte is among seven candidates seeking the GOP nomination for the seat being vacated by Republican Sen. Judd Gregg. Rep. Paul Hodes is unopposed in the Democratic primary.

Actually Hawaii is in the US but not in "America". Geographically Hawaii is in Oceania.

[Hawaii] encompasses nearly the entire volcanic Hawaiian Island chain, which comprises hundreds of islands spread over 1,500 miles (2,400 km). At the southeastern end of the archipelago, the eight "main islands" are (from the northwest to southeast) Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi,  Read More...

But, but, but... Hawaii is NOT an island -- it is the 57th State of the Union!

How does a candidate stand on stage while Sister is spouting ignorance and they know it? No smart candidate would want to cleanup her remarks while the opposition keeps exposing them.

Is anybody surprised? Does anything Palin says *not* contain a factual error or an outright lie? Why on earth is this woman taken seriously?

Questioning the truthiness of her remarks, are we? Don't be so hung up on what she said, you know what she meant? Any good editor would have properly fixtured her sayings. You liberals are so too literal. We refudiate your misunderestimations and got our sights on you.

I have NO problem with Mrs. Palin :

- Quitting her job that people elected her to do
- Making money by selling a book that was written for her
- Spending most of the donations that are given to her PAC on trivial things
- Speaking at functions that pay her to do so
- Talking with very much borderline language for free speech
- Supporting other candidates that are not from the party that supported her
- Writing things down on the palm of her hand because she is forgetful
- Saying things that quite often are not based in reality or fact

I Have NO problem with any of these things because SINGLEHANDEDLY she is driving a wedge between the shrinking Republican party and that of the even further right of the teaparty goers.

This November ( a short 4 months away) will see the split vote and with it the decimation of the republican party as we know it. Soon thereafter , there will be a purge of the leaders that fostered this obstructionism and Mrs. Palin will be nudged to the sidelines and become just a footnote in history.

A very , very small one .

Funky

Yes she is, they both agree on the contents. Isn't that a scary thought for the kids in Texas?

Unfortunately those Texas books go to many more States than just Texas.

As far as Palin is concerned, never under estimate the predicability of stupidity.

spongy - that is a pretty lame excuse. Especially since Kodiak Island, sitting in the northern pacific ocean, is not actually "in the continental U.S."

Never, Sarah makes things up as she goes. You notice that she never offers documentation for her ridiculous claims.
