Bill Murray Goes Dumpster Diving (VIDEO)

First Posted: 07/22/10 10:27 AM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:10 PM ET

It's hot outside. So hot that the Bloomberg administration has opened "Dumpster Pools." While not actually dumpsters, they doesn't really paint a refreshing picture. Who would really go for a dip in a dumpster?

Bill Murray would go for a dip in a dumpster. There's a reason his middle name is "f--king."

Before making his entrance on "The Late Show With David Letterman" last night, Murray not only dove into a garbage-filled dumpster, but he milked it for it was worth, sloshing around and having a grand ol' time. It's a good thing this moment was caught on camera and you can tell everyone about it. Otherwise, it would be safe to say...no one will ever believe you.

Watching Dave interview Bill is always a pleasure. Two of the funniest men to ever be on television.

Here’s what bothers me about this. When Bill Murray was being interviewed by Letterman, he was sitting there in a state that suggested he was obviously not himself. He made good sense for much of the time, but his voice was off, he sounded tired, he kept rubbing his eyes (double vision?) and at the end, just looks with a confused expression at Letterman to say “uh…â€, and that’s where Letterman cuts it off. Many of the symptoms Murray was showing in that chair are of a concussion, or even a TBI. In any case, head injuries are potentially life theatning, and Murray had no business sitting in that chair. Shame on Letterman and for his staff for letting him do that, instead of sending him strait to a hospital. Anybody remember Natasha Richardson, and how she died? I’m furious over this, and even more so because I know that because Murray doesn’t have an agent, people probably won’t know how Murray’s doing unless he just shows up in public somewhere.

There's always a smile around the corner when I watch him. After laughing, I always remember how vulnerable he appears on screen. He comes across as the real deal, and it's always great to see an actor, and a comedian, who inspires humility.

That's quite an astute observation... especially the vulnerability. It's the characteristic that makes a truly great comedic actor.

Murray kind of debunked that whole "nobody will believe you rumor" in a recent interview, or so it seems.Regardless, he's the man.

The whole thing was funny, but what got me laughing out loud was the last sideways dive. It was just funny!
