New York Restaurant Week Extended Six Weeks

About two-thirds of participating restaurants in New York Restaurant Week are extending their prix fixe specials through Labor Day.

While New York eaters can celebrate less time-sensitive restaurant deals, eateries are hoping the addendum will help them weather the economic storm.

"We're in a difficult economy and the more value we can give to our guests the better off we are," said Tracy Nieporent, head of NYC & Co.'s restaurant committee, to Crain's New York.

This is the third summer in a row that New York Restaurant Week has surpassed its pre-arranged time frame.
