Louisiana Oil Geyser: 20-Foot Oil Leak Shooting Up In Plaquemines Parish After Hit By Tugboat (PHOTOS)

New Oil Leak

NEW ORLEANS - (AP) Oil is spewing from a damaged well north of a bay where officials have been fighting the spill from the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico.

The Coast Guard says a tow boat called Pere Ana C. hit the wellhead near Mud Lake early Tuesday. No injuries were reported.

The Coast Guard did not know who owns the small well or how much oil has leaked. But a sheen has been spotted in the lake. Jefferson Parish Councilman Chris Roberts says oil is spewing from the wellhead.

Coast Guard Lt. Brian Sattler says a helicopter has been dispatched to survey the area, which is accessible only by boat.

Mud Lake is part of a network of bayous and lakes north of Barataria Bay, an ecologically sensitive coastal estuary where authorities have been fighting waves of oil from the Gulf spill.

See photos below of the leak:

CrazythingHappened: Found http://twitter.com/BPGlobalPR by accident &first saw: “We're protesting "Weekend WIthout Oil" with our own "Year Without Cleanup". Then read this: “Can't believe it. @bpTerry got drunk on his tugboat last night &ran over ANOTHER oil well. http://ow.ly/2hrOc #terrytime” The newses never said who it was that person did? Gee how familiar is that? Is this for real are they really BP Public Relations on Twitter exposing their shit while the media ignores it? Someone tell me who they are: Rthey a parady, are they comedians, or is it really BP PR? http://twitter.com/BPGlobalPR ifsoOMGI'MSIckagain. Oil leak, Oil leak, it's called the end of the ocean &marine life as we know it and if we don't take action we will all suffer very harshly.

"The Coast Guard did not know who owns the small well or how much oil has leaked."

Note to Thad. Call the Department of Conservation for the State of Louisiana. Problem will be solved in seconds!

It that the same Coast Guard that our fearless Leader put in charge of the Macondo spill?

"The World's Current Oil Spills, By the Numbers

(July 28) -- Oil, oil everywhere. It seems like the earth is having a hard time keeping it below ground these days.

With one active leak (in Barataria Bay, La.), two more still causing major problems (on the Kalamazoo River in Michigan and, of course, in the Gulf of Mexico) and one recently cleaned-up but disastrous spill in China, Surge Desk takes a look at the state of the world's oil spills, by the numbers. . . ."

"Of what importance, it may be said, is such a question of academic freedom in a world distracted by war, tormented by persecution, and abounding in concentration camps for those how will not be accomplices to iniquity? In comparison with such things, I admit, the issue of academic freedom is not in itself of the first magnitude. But it is part and parcel of the same battle. Let it be remembered what is at stake, in the greatest issues as well as those that seem to be smaller, is the freedom of the individual human spirit to express its beliefs and hopes for...humanity...whether they be shared by many or by few or by none."

BP only cares about maintaining its image so it can keep making money. They don’t care about the people their actions and policies have killed.

The human cost of the oil spill and BPs corruption is huge, not only with this oil spill disaster, but with many other losses of life on other BP rigs.

Everyone please take a look at the following tribute by Steve Joynt to the 11 men who died on the Deepwater Horizon, “Oil spill Day 100: The 11 men who died on the Deepwater Horizon”

http://blog.al.com/live/2010/07/oil_spill_day_100_the_11_men_w.html

We can never lose sight of the human cost of BP’s and others’ malfeasance.

It is owned by Cedyco Corp of Houston, craft by Cvitanovic Boat Service of Belle Chasse. No foreigners involved; no need to take any more interest.

Barataria Bay is getting it from both ends now! I used to fish Redfish around Mud Lake in the winter. They had a spill around there 6 years back but the area came back to normal in after two years. I suspect this will take longer - 33 barrels a day.

Wow.. epic fail. We will all be swimming in and drinking oil one day. Here's our take on the 100th day of the oil spill.. http://www.bestfunnyblog.com/world-news/gulf-oil-spill-day-100/

A few people have posted here recently saying that people are already starting to forget what
has happened in the Gulf of Mexico these last 100 days. I certainly hope that is not so.
I wrote a song about BP and the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico called Special Place.
Here's the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMvPDK8oJBk
Unfortunately,as this article reveals, BP isn't the only bad actor here. Please people,
do not forget that there is nothing inevitable about these oil spills.
Intelligent, responsible regulation should ensure that these things don't happen.
The lack of such regulation is insane. Has the government learned nothing from the last 100 days?

God, please hit the reset button now! We do not deserve the blessing to be stewards of this earth anymore.
So many good people but just a few only care about personal fortune, leads to irresponsibility.

You know what to do. Thank you God!

"God, please hit the reset button now! "

And people wonder why faith, religion and god are things that ruin and poison everything. That yearning for the end to come is something that doesn't receive utter rejection and ridicule is sickening. How about this for an idea; Fellow homo sapiens, decide that we are the one race that has the power given threw evolution and our own decision making, to move past our ancestors. To make the right decisions. God has nothing, Not one thing to do with these real issues. and when people say, beg, hope for the "end times" to come. It just goes to show how far we have yet to go.
