Jay-Z Upset With LeBron James' Miami Heat Decision: Report

Jay-Z's relationship with LeBron James has become "strained" after the NBA star decided to join the Miami Heat, the web site MediaTakeout reports. According to the article, James ignored Jay-Z's calls during the days leading up to his announcement.

Meanwhile, a source tells the New York Daily News that Jay-Z is "pissed, or at least disappointed, that LeBron didn't consult with him." The hip-hop mogul owns part of the New Jersey Nets, which were among many teams that courted King James in June and July.

James has received plenty of criticism since he announced his decision in a widely disparaged special on ESPN. While his former owner had the harshest words for the ex-Cavalier, Hall of Famers Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan all say they would have acted differently than James.

James left many people upset in the wake of his decision. The whole circus that surrounded his announcement seemed pretty cold.

But I say, "Do whatever you want LeBron." It's the owners and the culture that created this monster, and now they all want to act like they're sickened by it. If every NBA owner wasn't willing to sell their first-born to get James on their team, then none of this would have happened.

Jay-Z is pi$$ed that he didn't get a call. Big deal. The Cavs owner is decrying LeBron's lack of loyalty to the team, and the city. Really? Loyalty? Pay attention to how teams treat the lesser-known players. Sure, NBA players get a lot of money, but most of them are one phenom, injury, or birthday away from unemployment. Pro sports teams have no right to invoke loyalty. They never consider what a player might have previously done for the franchise.

So LeBron may have tarnished his "good-guy" image forever, but he went where he wanted to go. Even though he disappointed this Knicks fan, good for him...

Wrong. Wrong wrong. This has always been about the business empire he's trying to create for himself. You know where the biggest NBA merchandise market is? China. And they don't give a crap about you unless you have rings on your fingers. They loooove Kobe. He makes more money from merchandising in China than he does from his contract or US endorsements. And they don't really care about Lebron, same way they don't care about Vince Carter or John Wall, because it's not enough to be the 'Next Great One'. (John Wall does seem like he's going to be the real deal though). Saying he's taking less money is so narrow minded and short sighted. It is, and always has been, about the money and nothing else.

'The Decision' exposes how much of an egomaniac Lebron James is. For whoever thought of doing an hour special on TV to pretty much embarrass his hometown of Cleveland shows the guy has no class. Again, it doesn't bother me that he left Cleveland, but it the way he did it was pretty classless.

janicej, the stories are coming out now. One of the best is an Olympic teammate of LeBronze who went into a tirade at practice about how LeBronze is being an A$$hole to the hotel staff where they stay at (in a foreign country), translating that down to EVERY team member. These guys are multi-millionaires and only stay at 5-star hotels. They want to be treated right, you know, like the multi-millionaires they are, and you can't when a member of your party is a complete A$$hole to the staff.
