In the land of such blues legends as Muddy Waters and B.B. King, life is not as bad as it could be. In spite of the recent oil spill, Hurricane Katrina and all the economic turmoil Mississippi residents are facing, there has been a noticeable surge in blues tourism. At the Delta Blues Museum, crowds are growing steadily with people from every state and dozens of countries flooding in to visit the historically rich region.
The increase in blues tourism is replacing many of the lost factories and manufacture bases, boosting revenue and morale for people in the devastated community. People from the region are beginning to see blues tourism as a year round industry that they are eager and proud to invest in.
