Stewart To Media: 'Nothing Obama Does Will Ever Make You F**king Happy' (VIDEO)

What's Your Reaction:

Last night Jon Stewart responded to Barack Obama's much talked about appearance on "The View," or as Stewart refers to it, "a daily show about the misadventures of the world's unluckiest couch." While Obama made criticisms about the media during his coffee talk, the media also lashed out at him for appearing on the show, calling it inappropriate and undignified. Other more specific criticisms revolved around the President missing a semi-annual Boy Scouts Of America conference.

Stewart defended Obama's appearance on the show in two ways, first by showing a clip of former president George W. Bush and his wife in an interview with Dr. Phil wherein he asks, "were y'all spankers? Did you spank him?" Secondly, he came to the conclusion that if Obama had ditched the "View" appearance for the Boy Scouts, the conservative media would have skewered him for missing a candid conversation with women on national television, saying "nothing Obama does will ever make you f**king happy."

Speculating on whether or not either presidential appearance was really warranted, Stewart then asked if a "campfire sing-along or couch-side coffee klatch are the really the President's only two options?"

He is darn right about this again, more proof that False News has an agenda. I mean if you don;t agree with this, at least agree False News is not fair and balanced.
RGKahn   01:42 PM on 8/03/2010
That's not true. If the President were to go on national T.V. tonight and pull a Nixon and declare that on noon the next day he were resigning from the office of the President of the United States of America. Then Faux News would be happy. Of course, Joe Bided would also have to resign, as well as all Democratic Members of Congress.

John your right but it's because there is nothing he's done that could make anyone happy - come on admit it. - more bankers bonuses or foreclosures anyone?
dbtexas   11:54 AM on 8/03/2010
What would you do, other than throw stones? The power in this country (world?) rests in the hands of large, secretive financial institutions. Attempting to rein them in, especially given the tenor of the opposition (The Party Of NO!), makes the process nigh impossible. So, other than complaints, what would you do?
FlameOnH8   12:13 AM on 8/03/2010
In an alternate universe, where Obama did visit the Boy Scouts, FNC would be ranting about how Obama is brainwashing our young boys in the Boy Scouts.

I'd like Obama more if he walked onto the Glenn Beck set and smacked Glenn in the face.

i quite agree but i also don;t see mainstream media going after Obama's $2 trillion in megabank giveaways that caused and maintains our econ depression, the failure of hisloan remod program, or doing anything but perpetuating the myth of a financial meltdown that never happened or doing a financial analysis of the doc and drug company bailout program. Mainstream media has become a mouthpiece of whatever admin is in power. Unfortunately your firends are the result of a mainstream media that is simply not doing it's job - so a growing fringe element s doing it for them and bringing along distortion along with it. I will take the distortion because it is the only way to get any reality message out from the curtain of silence and lies that Obama disseminates.

Nothing like a real "Race related" story to get the media spinning out of control. A real bunch of "He Said, She Said" ambulance chasers. If you listen to the media and don't look at them, they sound like a frothing and rabid pack of wolves, just waiting to exploit any hint of a word or a nuanse. Some of this pack of wolves have to be paid hacks, and not just by their network, newspaper, etc, but paid by the opposing view. Just look at how every advance the president makes to move this nation forward is always overshadowed with what he's not doing. Everyone wants to be Pulitzer material, a real "Deepthroat" discoverer, but the harm is done and will continue to be done. They don't police themselves, or very, very rarely call each other out. It's called the "Real thin byline", similiar to the policemen's "Thin Blue Line.

Just a thought, but how would they like it, if they were followed, phone lines tapped and associations questioned to see if they are being "Legitimate" reporters?. We alrealdy know about FOX, but who else needs to be called into question, besides those "Radio Nonpersonalities"? A real bunch of jerks, that's why I listen more to NPR and get very little news from the colorful print, radio or television. What a real bunch of luzers.

I would not support that boy scouts either and I grew up in them, became an eagle scout. The scouts have been hijacked by the Mormon church and is now ran by a hateful bigoted group. They will not allow gay children into them any longer, they then claim to be a private organization while using federal land for their annual jamboree free of charge.

Cut it. Nothing Bush did made YOU happy either Jon. Still doesn't. Obama misplayed his hand here. He should have stayed off the couch. Yeah, Bush was on with DR. Phil.He and Laura probably look back on that with fondness. Which one on the View's couch is a Dr. What was the topic too - Snookie? Does he know who Snookie is? The most hated, Hasselbeck had the nerve to ask about unemployment. She should have stuck with Joy's questions...Snookie and Lohan.

You are ridiculous in your comments. Dr. Phil was not doing treatment on George and Laura, just an interview. And, they discussed many things trivial in nature. Thus, it didn't matter if he was a "Dr". Secondly, there were many different topics discussed. Your comments demonstrate that you did not watch the interview and thus your opinions are based on bias and not fact. Typical GOPER ignore the facts. Finally, how do you know that nothing Bush did made Jon happy? Are you an expert on interpreting Jon's inner-feelings?
photo
mmonarch   11:59 PM on 8/01/2010
You sat through both of them? Both interviews. Actually, I did watch Dr. Phil occasionally and yes they mixed serious with not serious topics. But honestly, the View? I know Nixon was on Laugh In too. I didn't think that was too wise either. I still think this was not a good choice for Obama. Someone said that it's great that he makes contact with people. Good lord, the man has the OVAL office at his disposition. He can hold a conference any time of the day. But instead he chooses to talk to the people of his country on the View? Not even a "fireside" chat from the Oval. Come on, quit defending. I will admit my post was not the greatest. But he has got to stop campaigning and start leading.

Because everything that Bush did took this nation off the cliff and we've been dealing with those consequences for 2 years now while the GOP says 'No' to trying to right the ship.

And the fact that he changed his name for professional reasons makes him less believable?

The Daily Show ratings are excellent in its category and has won and emmy or two.

BTW, here are some other famous people who also changed their name.

John Wayne -- Marion Morrison

Charlton Heston – John Charles Carter

Chuck Norris – Carlos Ray

Kirk Douglas – Issur Danielovitch Demsky

Jack Palance – Volodymyr Palahniuk

Tony Curtis – Bernard Schwartz

Rock Hudson – Roy Harold Scherer Jr

Larry King- Lawrence Zeiger

Bush's efforts against AIDS in Africa were laudible, and Stewart said as much. It was the silver lining on W's presidency.
