Lady Gaga In Vanity Fair: Talks Cocaine & Celibacy (PHOTO)

Lady Gaga covers the September issue of Vanity Fair, and inside she takes her clothes off and talks about bad romances, doing coke, hitting rock bottom and being drunk at Yankee Stadium. Here are a couple of sound bytes, read a longer preview here.

On celibacy:
"I have this weird thing that if I sleep with someone they're going to take my creativity from me through my vagina."

On relationships:
"I'm perpetually lonely. I'm lonely when I'm in relationships. It's my condition as an artist.. I'm drawn to bad romances. And my song ["Bad Romance"] is about whether I go after those [sort of relationships] or if they find me. I'm quite celibate now; I don't really get time to meet anyone."

On her "mostly cocaine" drug habit:
"I won't lie; it's occasional. And when I say occasional, I mean maybe a couple of times a year."

Even if i am quite a fan of some of her songs, it seems to me she is overreacting with her publicity stunts. If you read this http://www.metrolic.com/lady-gaga-shocks-again-really-transparent-outfit-110974/ maybe you will get my point. I really think that transparent outfits are not going to make you more talented. Does she have to shock us every time like that?

In some ways I think Gaga is on to something new - in pop,not in art. She's honed in more aggressively than many pop artists before on what makes mainstream pop tick, which is the visual aspect, and not the music, cos pop basically can't compete on the music front anymore. There is too much happening in a localised, smallscale way in music now. Pop music's marketing teams just can't keep up. So with Gaga they've created this visual monster, this towering pop jabberwocky or colossus. In actual fact you could see the 'fierce' 'nihilistic' thing they've pinned on her as mainstream pop's most obvious gesture of insecurity to date - in other words if persuasion doesn't work, then terror will. Not that she's actually that scary, but scary is her thing. Scary was never really Maddonna's thing. Gaga dresses - weird, uncomfortable, restrictive, - does seem to represent some kind of statement about the bizarre, tortured cyborg the fashion girl has to be to keep up now, & that prison b@tch scenario in the telephone video seems to suggest that you have to be cruel to yourself and other women in order to be a 'cool girl' these days...
But it seems like she's ploughing a pretty empty furrow anyway in making these anti statements, cos her music is utter shite. That should be the end of it, but unfortunately with the money behind it, she'll making bizarrely elaborate commercials for nothingness for A Long Time.

I like her creativity and that she isn't afraid to express who she is. I love her costumes, I like her music (don't love, but they're catchy songs that are fun to dance to). To all you haters out there, she's got real talent and you just can't beat that.

Umm...she's awweight. I'm not a hater but I can't seem to get excited about her. I honestly think Madonna broke the mold on all that is pop super stardom. The GaGa girl is for young folks who haven't been exposed to much and get excited by lots of showy and flashy things. It's new to them.

But the fact is, she works too hard at it. There's just nothing original there to tap into.

Then fashion is nothing but stupid clothes, painting nothing but stupid colors put together, design nothing but silly shapes and colors. Heck, art in general is stupid, isn't it?
She is original because she has her own style and yes, she creates so she is creative.
