Richthofen Castle In Denver For Sale (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: Historic, Allegedly Haunted Castle On Denver's East Side Listed For $3.9 Million

One of Denver's most colorful historic homes is for sale this summer. The Richthofen Castle, built by Walter von Richthofen--uncle of the famed World War I pilot known as the Red Baron--from 1878 to 1887 has been listed by its owners, who are looking to downsize.

The castle, which is located in the East Denver neighborhood of Montclair, was modeled after the Richthofen Castle in Germany. The 35-room home was the site of one of Colorado's most infamous murders in 1911 (that of Charles Patterson by his wife, Gertrude) and has since been rumored to be haunted.

The Richthofen Castle is listed at $3.9 million, but the owners say they will throw in some of their Red Baron historical memorabilia for an extra $2 million.
