LeBron James Letter: Newspaper Ad Thanks Akron, Not Cleveland

LeBron Thanks Hometown -- NOT Cleveland -- In Newspaper Ad

LeBron James is already trying to make it up to his former fans in Ohio by taking out a full-page ad in the Akron Beacon Journal, his hometown paper.

James calls Akron his home in the ad and thanks the fans for his support. However, he doesn't mention Cleveland at all.

"Akron is my home, and the central focus of my life. It's where I started, and it's where I will always come back to," James explains. "You can be sure that I will continue to do everything I can for this city, which is so important to my family and me. Thank you for your love and support. You mean everything to me."

James decided to leave Cleveland and sign with the Miami Heat, teaming up with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. Cleveland Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert was not very happy about it and neither were the Cleveland fans, to say the least.

NBA legends Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley have all weighed in on James' decision, saying they would not have done what he did. Scroll down to see the ad.
