Mayra Lissette Contreras Dies After Illegal Silicone Injections In Buttocks (VIDEO)

Police are looking for two women after a third died due to silicone injections in her buttocks, KTLA reports. Mayra Lissette Contreras, 22, received the injections from Guadalupe Viveros and her sister Alejandra Viveros, and Contreras died within 24 hours from respiratory distress. The Viveros were arrested but released and disappeared before their court date.

New York cosmetic surgeon Dr. Michael Kane told CBS News, "Stories like this are all too common. Every year someone dies in this country from illegal silicone injections. These buttock injections are usually done by unlicensed people, because I don't know any licensed professional who would inject large amounts of silicone into the body."

I would never in a million years call some random number and go to someone's HOUSE to get a surgical procedure. What is the IQ of someone who thinks it would be a good idea to have some lady cut you up or inject you. And the ad itself looks so bogus - anyone with half a brain should know it's not legit. I feel badly for the dead woman, but there is at least a teeny tiny amount of brains one must use before embarking on medical procedures. And these two women - how many others did they inject?

As a young black girl growing up in the 50's and 60's I was told by society that my lips and butt were too big, I so self-conscious. And now, women are risking their lives to get lips ans butts like mine....WOW!

Sad isn't it...self conscious when you should have been proud. Estrogen distributes fat to the hips and thighs in women and that extra fat on the hips is a sign of fertility.

Allowing some shady doctor to inject ANYTHING into your body is nuts. Did anyone note the business card (which they distributed at parking lots by the way)? It says "get a nice firm buttocks". Translation: your buttocks will probably meld together.
