'Daily Show' Takes On Palin's 'Mama Grizzly' Campaign (VIDEO)

Last night on "The Daily Show," Jon Stewart addressed Sarah Palin's "Mama Grizzly" coalition and the media's interpretation that Palin is now a feminist leader. Stewart brought on Senior Women's Issues Correspondent Kristin Schaal to discuss who these "Mama Grizzlies" are and what they mean to Palin's political movement.

"Mama Grizzlies? It sounds like Sarah Palin's strategy is to release, for lack of a better word, killing machines into the legislative process," Stewart said, after showing Pain's ad invoking conservative moms.

Schaal pointed out that "Mama Grizzlies" aren't killing machines, "they're 'protecting machines'" who, as Palin believes, can stop "Obama, Pelosi and Reid and what they're doing to our country."

Throwing aside the idea that protecting children somehow equals the halting of liberals in power, Stewart asked if liberal moms also care about their children. "Absolutely not," Schaal explained. "Liberals aren't bears, if anything they're like gerbils. They'll eat their young if their welfare check's late."

The real "mama grizzlys" are all single mothers. Maybe that's why they defend their young so fiercely. Because they have to. Because papa grizzly has gone off to impregnate some other female.

Very funny of Stewart and Schaal but if this "momma grizzly" thing really speaks to these Rep women then we have a big problem in this country! Scary to think that these Rep women could believe anything Palin says when she talks with this unintelligent gibberish! Palin-speak never makes any sense and even the bears are smarter than she is.

The Daily Show should use Kristin Schaal more often. Her talents are so different from Samantha Bee and the show needs a couple more women on a regular basis. She's better than the writing was on this sketch.

She has a believable edginess (despite her sort of innocent appearance) that makes her unpredictable. It feels like a risky approach that sometimes falls flat, but often is a highlight from out of the blue. She's also just naturally funny....to me anyway.

Congress should make a law that 'resigned' half-term Governors (or any other office) should NOT be allowed to use the title in their subsequent career choices, nor should the media refer to them by the title. They can go back to calling her Mayor Palin.

You have to admit, it's an awesome sight to see Sarah standing upright on her hind legs, roaring fiercely while the cameras role and the tea bags flutter in the breeze. But if Sarah is a "Mama Grizzly, then I see common sense as Goldilocks. She's safe while the bears are gone, but when they come home.....something "adverse" happens and it doesn't go well for common sense.
