Washington D.C. Metro Incident: 70 Involved In Massive Brawl

As many as 70 people were involved in a massive brawl spanning at least two Metro Stations in Washington D.C. Friday night.

At least four were injured in the incident which apparently began at Gallery Place station, the Washington Post reports.

Washington D.C. Fire and EMS reported that a "large brawl" took place at the L'Enfant Plaza station, involving "poss mass casualty." It tweeted, "EMS treating at least 7 patients - Mass Casualty Task Force requested," conflicting with the Washington Post report of just four injuries.

Another incident was reported by D.C. Fire and EMS at the Anacostia Metro Station not long after, first identified as a shooting. Around midnight Eastern Time, it said that the Anacostia incident was "NOT a shooting, however related to L'Enfant Plz incident."

The cause of the incidents are not known at this time and they are under investigation by police, according to BNO News.

Twitter user @fettweis claimed to be at the scene, posting, "Was on Metro for fight at L'Enfant, heard no gun shots, just a crazy fight. I'm safe."
