Michael Bennet passed the first big political test of his career on Tuesday night when he defeated challenger Andrew Romanoff to capture the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in Colorado. His win capped a long and often bitter primary that was very much in question until the end. He will now face Republican nominee Ken Buck in a general election that figures to be at least as grueling as the primary.
