Male model Ronnie Brown's ear was bitten off in an altercation at NYC's Highbar on Sunday, the New York Daily News reports. Brown was allegedly attacked by James Leahy, who was arrested afterward and arraigned on Tuesday on two counts of first-degree assault "with intent to disfigure another person seriously and permanently," according to the Advocate.com. Leahy could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

Brown told the Daily News, "I reached for my ear and it was not there. It looks like a dog mangled it." His lobe was sewn back on that same night.

While Leahy said he was acting in self-defense, Brown wrote an e-mail to Gawker explaining his side of the story, which began with Brown talking to a guy he had previously dated who is friends with Leahy a.k.a. "Jane Lane." An excerpt:

While I'm speaking to my ex, Jane starts saying obscene things to me. I told him he was a liar and he then threw a glass in my face leaving me scarred on my right side. Then the confrontation started. We were on the floor and I saw him go for my ear where my earring was but didn't think twice about it until he pulled away with blood in his mouth and someone said my ear was bleeding. I reached for it and half was gone. I was escorted down stairs crying and bleeding I was in utter shock and disbelief!...Luckily someone found the piece he bit off and iced it and it rode with me to the hospital.

Party promoter Michael Formika-Jones sided with Leahy, telling the Daily News, "Right now, everybody has heard Ronnie's side of the story. There are two sides to every story--even Lorena Bobbitt had her side of the story."
