I live in Florida not far from the gulf coast, and there hasn’t been any oil near the beaches of Cedar Key down to Clearwater near Tampa. Those are the places I know best and so far it is true that the worst damage has been the lack of tourism in the area. So i voted that I would vacation there, but truthfully, I enjoy the atlantic coast much more and I think it is less developed in terms of resorts. Plus, bathing in the gulf is like taking a bath, the water is too warm for me!

There are millions of Joshua trees in the California desert. The articles states they "may" disappear in 100 years because of global warming. Guess they could also disappear in 100 years because of global cooling. Or maybe not. By the way, where were all those billions of Joshua trees during the last ice age? Probably not in that national park site.

The spots they mentioned are waaay outside the average persons possibility to visit, but then maybe it wasn't intended for us average folk.
Except for the Joshua Tree N.P., they didn't mention an entire region of the US- the Southwest, a very accessible, endangered place due to AGW.
Go there in the Springtime- anywhere in Utah, AZ, NM- you won't regret it!

My 2010 vacation was in danger since it involved a road trip, a pick-up truck towing a camper plus two jetskis with gasoline going for $3 a gallon.

Luckily last month I timbered part of my property, selling several large cherry, poplar and oak trees and made more than enough money to cover my expenses..

Canada. Sacrifice? Not at all, I'm always selling some from time to time for a few extra dollars. Many of my friends no longer take their outdoor vacation trips because of fuel costs, luckily I got one more year. Next year remains to be seen.

If you like deserts, go now - most of them are going to be completely destroyed and industrialized by the fine folks and Chevron, BP and Goldman Sachs - Big Solar and Big Wind, even though TOTALLY NOT NEEDED, are being sited on millions of acres of pristine deserts, which will also destroy all the space in between because of erosion, sandstorms and depletion of ALL the groundwater, plus the dead species combined with the massive scale introduction of invasive species - we are about to lose one of the most biodiverse, magical ecosystems of our planet for Big Energy profits, even though our built environment is plenty sunny to power the entire nation from within it.

Please believe me, there are more than enough rooftop, parking lot, and in-city brownfields to fulfill far more energy requirements than our remote, fragile deserts, but since Big Energy is terrified we will realize we can discard them, they are - WITH A HUGE ASSIST FROM THE BIG ENVIROS - killing all our wilderness so they can monopolize our sun and wind on our public land, using our tax and ratepayer dollars - so they can sell it back to us for a fortune.

It is so wasteful, destructive and frustrating when WE could be doing what 60 other countries already do - offer a fair payment to real people who produce more clean power on their roofs than they use. But no, Chevron and BP get to slaughter the deserts for money.

Go to the Rio Grande! The river is severely endangered, ways life are endangered, lives are in danger, and it's one hell of an adventure. Hit Big Bend, but go to the State Natural Area. Beautiful... Go in the fall; not as hot, fewer people, and still gorgeous. I love that river.

Been to the Battlefields in France (socialists) and they are moving, picturesque, memorable, and
breathtaking.
Guess what, they would never build a Walmart on the beaches of Normandy, Ardennes, Chateu Theirry or the Somme. Go to Gettysburg I think they want to build a mall on the battlefield.

I like the Virginia one. I get to see part of a Civil War site and a Walmart!!! I never would have thought that was possible. I am going.
