Miss Universe Body Paint Photos Slammed By Fox News (VIDEO, PHOTOS, POLL)

Fox411 has slammed Miss Universe, saying the competition has "sunk to a new low" after some contestants posed topless for a promotional photo shoot. As Courtney Friel exclaims, they "even used body paint like the Playboy Bunnies!" Check out Fox's report below and see what Miss USA Rima Fakih had to say about the pics.

I have been doing body painting for over 10 years now and it still surprises me the ideas and controversy that it fuels. It is ridiculous. There may be classy and not so classy body painting. But there are plenty of true professionals that do it as art and fashion. JoAnne Gair that does the painting in Sports Illustrated and she even painted Demi Moore for the cover of Vanity Fair. Would you call her work distasteful? I think some people look to create more controversy than there needs to be. If we are going to evolve as a people we need to embrace the arts more and realize the differences between art and over the edge.

On another note, because this is supposed to be Miss Universe, I think they could have gone a lot more ellaborate and higher quality with the paint. most of it looks like Mardi Gras or simple designs. If it is just one painter then i might understand, but if they had a team of people I definitely think that they could have done a lot better. The World Body Painting Festival goes all out. JoAnne Gair does some beautiful stuff. There are plenty of serious body painters that are phenomenal artists, so I think being that this was Miss Universe, they could have and should have done much better.

will show you the process a little in what they did. i have seen more of the designs now and they had some great stuff in the video that I have not seen a lot of in the photos. So far i have only seen about 6 photos from the shoot, but I think people need to look at the art and thought that goes into this. There is a difference between art and pornography.

I agree, if women had any decency these days they would hate sex, admit that rape is their fault, be ashamed of the body god gave them and wear burkas. That is the only reasonable way to think.

Your are absolutely right. This comments are completely ignorant, to say the least. Usually rapists commit these crimes against women for other reasons. I mean do people forget there are child molestors and people who rape women that don't necessarily expose themselves out there? Besides, these images are not bulgar or pornographic at all.

There has been criticism of the ladies displaying their physical fitness with lovely body paint art as if all men view women as sexual objects. This is hardly the case. From a natural perspective, clothes are obviously artificial - mere man-made costumes. Just because men are stimulated by certain attractive visual stimuli, which, incidentally, is necessary for reproduction and our survival as a race, men do not in general have a lust for women just because they are women. Is a woman just attracted to any man? The diatribe on men as if they just want to lust for nude women in a general sense is sickening and arrogant. (That's why the No Fat Women sticker is so funny!) Physical beauty and fitness do play a key role in attraction between the sexes but that does not negate the attractiveness of intellect and personality. And if men are attracted to seeing some women naked or semi-naked, and the said women enjoy it, it is all part of the play of sexes. It is is no one's business to interfere with their natural selection. If you believe the Bible story of creation, you know the Lord was angry that Adam and Eve had clothed their nakedness. If you do not believe that, then you should obviously accept the fact that at least according evolution clothing was not a natural part of the evolving human body. The girls are just being naturally human.

Why is it that the only way women and show their beauty is by removing all their clothes so men can jack off to them. Nudity of women has only one use for men to jack off to and act as if women are here to play as their personal sex toys. Men as a whole do not respect women enough for this to just be ART. This is solely to get men to watch so they can lust and treat women as toys. Nothing more, Men don't know what art is. When they see nude women only one thing comes to mind their penis. Men as a whole are trash and view women as property and not equals. When men as a whole are required to remove all their clothes to prove they are attractive and like themselves or to promote art then we will talk. When men as a whole show women respect and want to show them that they actually love them then maybe we will talk. This is a cheap ploy to objectify women as toys not people.

The irony here is that if people watch fox news, they have an incredible ability to show tons of attractive women pole dancing, wearing bikini's, etc and working that into news stories that literally have nothing to do with the sexual images they are showing. Youtube Cavuto's show, or even O'Reilly, for some good examples.

Fox news really has NOTHING better to do. They literally sit in a room and make up stories. To me fox news is just a bunch of creative writers who were never talented enough to make it, so now there only claim to fame is creating wild news headlines and being the "loudest" voice in the room per say.

It's a beauty Contest in Las Vegas- what are they expecting- Hee Haw Miss America? This is NOT a" talent or scholarship" pageant. It's a beauty contest pure & simple. They showcase beautiful women. Donald Trump is the PT Barnum of his time. He's going to publicize this any way he possibly can. Expect a little "controversy" about 2 weeks prior to the pageant. It always happens.
