PHOTO: Obama Goes For A Swim

We'd been holding our breath all day, waiting to see if President Obama would go for a swim during his Gulf vacation...and finally, all of our questions have been answered. From the White House Flickr comes a photo of the Prez and Sasha taking a dip in Saint Andrew Bay off of Alligator Point, in Panama City Beach, Florida.

Obama kept writers guessing earlier about his swimming status, saying he would, but not in front of the cameras. According to the pool report:

He joked that the last time he went swimming without his shirt on he wound up on the cover of magazines. Pool joked that that's a good thing. FLOTUS, standing nearby, chimed in: "No it's not," she said, shaking her head and smiling.

Barack ultimately ditched his shirt and took the plunge. Here's a pic of the Obamas in the water on Saturday, and check out the last time the President went shirtless.

Alas, Alligator Point is far removed from Panama City, where for all of 27 hours he was vacationing so the White House could praise his bravery of swimming in "the Gulf". Indeed, Alligator Point is protected from any oil in the Gulf by St. George Barrier Islands, the East Bay AND the East Bayoo!!!

Let's forget the mass media palp. Just implement a daily independent testing regime for the next 12 months in all affected regions, including multiple depths and beach coring, past trends and future forecasts. Those tests should cover, the dispersant's. oils and all toxins associated with crude oil, as well as of course toxic microbiological build up associated with contaminated waters. Let's stick with science and forget the marketing, it will cost a bit but at least it will be honest and when done properly valuable science will be gathered as well as ensuring the safety of the public.

What difference does it make where he swam, how long he stayed etc. He has made 5 trips to the Gulf Region and it is still not good enough for most of you. Maybe if he flew over in a plane and waved you'd be happy. The question is if you aren't happy with him and tired of seeing his "vacation" pictures why did you click the link? He had shrimp from off the gulf coast at the WH when the New Orleans Saints superbowl champs were there and at his BBQ last weekend.
