Sixty years ago, Mary Price-Walls was denied a college education at Missouri State University due to the color of her skin.
But as of today, Mary has the undergraduate degree she always dreamed of. School officials admitted they were wrong to reject her and to make up for it honored Mary with an honorary undergraduate degree.
Mary and her son, Terry, put the past behind them and proudly celebrated the event at the University's summer commencement ceremony.
