Archbishop Timothy Dolan thinks there's room for compromise in the mosque near Ground Zero debate.
"My major prayer is that what has turned into somewhat of a divisive issue might develop into an occasion of very civil, rational, loving, respectful discussion," Dolan said.
The spiritual leader of New York City's Catholics praised Mayor Michael Bloomberg for his strong defense of the mosque.
He also said he appreciated Gov. Paterson's efforts to find a different location for the Islamic center.
"Both of what they are trying to do is bring people together to look into this problem," Dolan said.
