Hot Gop Women Web Video
GOP Web Ad Touts Red 'Hot' Republican Women Alongside Democratic 'Dogs'

The Republican Party of Minnesota's fifty-sixth Senate district is out with a new web video firing an unusual line of attack: women affiliated with the GOP are hotter than their Democratic counterparts.

The nearly five-minute long spot is set to the tune of Tom Jones' "She's a Lady" and touts the physique of ex-Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, along with that of Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) and other familiar female conservative faces.

Following a montage of images hyping the Republican looks, the music transitions to Baha Men's "Who Let the Dogs Out?" before distorted snapshots of House Speaker Nancy Pelsoi, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, and Rosie O'Donnell's head photoshopped onto 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's body flash across the screen.

(First Lady Michele Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are also among the Democratic figures highlighted in the web ad.)

Minnesota Democrats strongly condemned the video, which was uploaded to Youtube, as well as to the local Republican Party's website before reportedly being removed on Wednesday morning.

"This video is sexist and offensive," said Brian Melendez, State Chair of the Minnesota Democratic Farmer Labor Party. "The day when a woman was judged by her looks rather than her competence and intelligence should have passed three generations ago. But apparently Republican leaders in the year 2010 still think of that bygone era as the good old days, and want to bring it back."

Melendez added, "It probably wasn't lost on the Republicans who posted this video that Senate District 56 is represented in the Legislature and in Congress entirely by women."

On the Republican side, Minnesota State House candidates Kathy Lohmer and Andrea Kieffer -- who are both backed by the 56th Senate district GOP -- came out and criticized the video.

Lohmer went as far as to call for the resignation of Randy Brown, the local Republican Party's webmaster, for posting the video.

When the Minnesota Independent caught up with Brown, he said of controversial web video: "[I]ts only intention was to bring a smile to a few peoples faces, and possibly irritate a few others. Is it fair? Does that matter? It wasn't intended to be fair. It was intended to be funny."

If this was a beauty contest it might mean something; however, when their decisions affect citizens lives I'm more interested in grades earned in college, degrees earned, non fiction books written, works published, etc - in other words brains and intelligence!!!!

I've seen these type of ads/pieces back in the Bush years. Always thought it appealed to the lowest common denominator. Yeah, let's think about them knockers while the economy crumbles. I'm looking at you, SEC staffers.

That seems like a video that the fine, upstanding, family values Republican by the name of Vitter, in Louisiana, would get all excited about. Bet he's watched it 100 times.

Well I guess conservatives have to ignore most of the gorgeous people in Hollywood, the music industry and modeling who support the Democrats to make this meme fit. If your a Democratic you can make a living using your talent.

Meanwhile, Republican women have to settle for beauty pageants, politics or Fox "news" correspondents since they really have no talent to speak of, except looking pretty and saying something dumb.

Conservatives are like that guy back in high school that was real popular and maybe even quarterback of the football team, but then everyone else grew up and went to college and started productive lives while the quarterback just stayed in the same rural town, put on fifty pounds, works at the gas station and sits around on the weekends reliving the glory days of high school over a six pack. It's that's personality model that conservative media appeals to because it's infantile and shows a total lack of class and favors a more Hooters style approach to politics. Besides, they quite obviously forgot the gorgeous blonde who was sending Obama messages of support during the 08' campaign that even made headline news. Her name is Scarlett Johansson and I would take one of her over ten Kelly Prijon's, or fifty Sarah Palin's, or even one hundred anorexic zombified Ann Coulter's. Would be like trading a Porsche for livestock. Is that sexists of me? Oops. Well, what is good for the goose, is good for the gander.

just further proof that republican voters either have or are treated by the GOP as having the IQ of a high school kid who has taken too many knocks to the head during two-a-days...

Smug self-righteousness is ugly to look at no matter how pleasantly the features wearing that look are arranged.

A person may look good but have no brain.

The future of our nation is not a stupid beauty pageant.

How can anyone vote on just a persons looks? Why would anyone waste their vote on that?

This ad is just another example of how "EMPTY" the "RIGHT" has become.

Time to vote "LEFT" folks!

At least on the "LEFT" we have "BRAINS".
