Amar'e Stoudemire Says He Is Keeping Kosher

Amar'e Stoudemire: I'm Keeping Kosher

New York Knicks star Amar'e Stoudemire, back from his trip to Israel, told the New York Post he is keeping kosher.

Although he said he is not a religious person, he is practicing Judaism "spiritually and culturally."

"I didn't grow up in a Jewish home. I never had a bar mitzvah, never celebrated the holy days growing up," Stoudemire said. "I figure, what the scriptures speak about, that's what I celebrate."

While in Israel, he showed off his Star of David tattoo and wore a yarmulke. According to the Post, Stoudemire has had a large "12 Tribes" tattoo, referring to the 12 Tribes of Israel, for the past two and a half years.
