10 Luxury Beach Hotels For Less (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 8/20/10   Updated: 5/25/11

Spanning the shores of seven countries, the properties listed in ShermansTravel.com's roundup of recently-opened luxury beach hotels boast smart design, prime waterfront locales, and all the mod-cons you'd expect from a high-end resort. Best of all, the rates at these 10 hotels are typically less than $250 a night (some are even less than $150). Sprawl out in your own oceanfront suite in Mexico, test out the surf at an all-inclusive Costa Rican gem, or people-watch from your boardwalk-view balcony in Venice Beach, California. AS SOON as I get a chance I am grabbing my girl and we are packing everything and going to stay in one of those G-DDAMN overwater bungalos in french polynesia !! And sweet jesus I will sit on that EFFIN DECK every morning as those little canoes bring you breakfast! AND FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST I WILL UNWIND!! Because I am sitting in a metal and glass cage called an office staring at Excel and I WANT. TO. STRANGLE. SOMEONE. So...I've been looking at them for a while and it's not what you would call affordable, it is however what you would call paradise. Watch this video, and you will see what goes through my head as I sit at this desk...

There is no such thing as a " luxury " Rui hotel anywhere in the world. Rui is a good affordable all inclusive chain but it's certainly not in the luxury category. Who writes these travel stories ? Use of words like luxury and deluxe should be used appropriately. If the Rui is luxury, what is the Four Seasons Papagayo ? Intergalactic Deluxe ? TIGHTEN UP HUFFPO. You can hire me as travel editor if I can work from home.

Are any of the photos real?

I can vouch for the La Amada Hotel photo. I stayed there last December and had dinner at the table in the middle of the photo every night for a week. It's a really nice, quiet place and, it's true, it's not very expensive.

I would be happy to visit any of them, right now.
Visions of drinks sporting tiny umbrellas dance in my head.

The Sheraton in Greece and the Seagate in Florida offer an identical room with an identical view. How'd they pull that off??

It's painted on the inside of the glass. You don't want to see what it looks like when you open the window.

I stayed at the Seagate. Beautiful hotel, but I wouldn't call it "affordable".

Well, affordable isn't explained. What do these resorts cost? Only then could I decide if they are affordable to me.

I guess at 370+/nite it's 'less', but a lotta folks will still want about 1/2 of that rate.

Erwin used to be the Best Western Marina Pacific, must be recent-Google Maps street view still shows it as a Best Western.
