Jiao Zhe, Former Shandong Luneng Captiain, Banished From Team For Attacking Teammate

Soccer Player Banished For Attacking

Jiao Zhe, a former captain of the Shandong Luneng soccer club in the Chinese Super League, was banned from the team and fined $4,400 for attacking one of his teammates following a CSL game last weekend.

After Shandong Luneng won 2-1 over Chongqing, Zhe "was punished for swearing at and then hitting young substitute defender Zhang Chi in the locker room," according to Reuters.

"It is not as simple as kicking him out now and calling him back later. We must give him a warning, a lesson to learn. I cannot tell when the ban will be lifted," club manager Han Gongzheng told the Beijing Youth Daily newspaper.
