Rick Lazio Releases Anti 'Ground Zero Mosque' Ad Attacking Cuomo (VIDEO)

Rick Lazio wants to make sure the so-called "Ground Zero mosque" stays on the radar this election season.

Lazio, the GOP gubernatorial candidate, has been attacking his opponent Attorney General Andrew Cuomo for his unwillingness to investigate the funding for the proposed Islamic center near Ground Zero.

Now, Lazio has a controversial ad demanding that Cuomo do some digging to find out where the money's coming from.

But Lazio's ploy may have backfired, as both the Uniformed Fire Officers Association and the Sergeants Benevolent Association have criticized the ad, saying its images upset the families of 9/11 victims.

I call it cheap, theatrical, hypocritical, divisive, and desperation. This man cannot come up with any good ideas to help the economy, health care, unemployment etc., I guess he cannot impress anyone that way, so he picks on a divisive subject, and injects himself into it. Ahhh Republicans - gotta give them credit, they were able to take the worlds most successful Melting Pot city and make it look like the rural 1950's south with just a few well placed attack ads, and letting a few nut-bar blogger do the talk-show rounds. People have the right to question where the money is coming from. We know American taxpayers are funding his trip to other countries and have to wonder if he is collecting money from people who dont like us.We can also wonder why others were denied to build there including a Greek church but all of a sudden zoning laws dont matter. And there is that remark the Imam made that Americans were accomplices to 9/11.

If Imam Rauf wants to do something to 'heal anti-Muslim sentiment' -- let him get $100 million from the Saudis and instead of putting up a mosque build a 9/11 Memorial maternity center for indigent women - of all faiths. Now That would be a display of tolerance. And yes, do stop screaming.
