Tumblr continues to grow and new features just keep coming -- the latest being an an Android app and third-party iPad app.
And now this for the social network based in New York: Tumblr hit 1 billion posts today.
Its staff acknowledged the mark in a Tumblr post, stating, "The things you do with Tumblr continue to blow our minds. :)"
Tumblr's rapid ascent in some ways mirrors that of Twitter, which made headlines when it hit the 1 billion tweets mark a year and a half ago. That number ballooned to 20 billion total tweets just last month.
