Record-Setting Hot Temperatures Expected To Hit Southern California

LOS ANGELES -- A heat wave is set to hit Southern California this week with possible record-setting temperatures in some areas.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Tuesday and Wednesday, when triple-digit temperatures are expected in the valleys and lower mountains.

High pressure over Arizona may boost the heat index to 110 degrees by Tuesday.

The San Fernando Valley could reach 107 degrees Tuesday and Wednesday.
