I've never heard of this author, so his going digital-only is no loss to me. I'm a big book reader. Several every week. I'll never switch to an electronic device to read books. Just can't do it. Don't want to. I like books.

There are a lot of drawbacks to ebooks if you count the whole mishmash of formats & expense of ereaders. But I love mine because I no longer have the storage space for hard copies. Moved to a smaller house and had to get rid of 4,000 books. I can store that many on my SD card for my reader.

Ebooks used to be cheaper but with the advent of Kindle & Nook that's not so any more.

You can also easily lose that aforementioned SD card.

So? I have backups on two pc's and an external hard drive. I doubt they'll all fail at once.

You can also re-download books from the vendor which I've been doing for 12 years. I can still get those 12 year old books today.

Seth Godin will be looking for a new job shortly if he thinks the best move is to entirely cut out the people who don't have $150 to spend on the requisite electronics just to be able to read his stuff to begin with.
