fb itself is boring and does nothing to protect it's users.

Glad I don't know what any of that is.

What is the point of location-based social networking? Like I want a bunch of people to be able to pinpoint my exact location at any place, any time? Yeah right! Is this what the future holds... no privacy whatsoever?

LOL---the Farmsville gig is just lame. But people get so into it.

If I was going to create a fantasy world, it would have kick-kiester Amazon warriors, and instead of what you get on Farmville "Sheila helped Bob fix his chicken-coop today and got 3 eggs" or whatever, you'd get "Amazon LIbbyCabal road 500 miles on an old BSA to save the Kingdom of Whatever, and she earned 4 huge blisters on her kiester but, with the help of her Sword of Hypatia, she also came home with 1 golden-haired love-slave man."

And you could advertise whatever you wanted, too.

It's all boring and Facebook has corrupted the meaning of the word "friend".

I decided to ignore facebook ..The thought of all those catty classmates, all grown up with charge cards. No thanks. I could barely tolerate them as a kid, much less now. Since I was the president of my class, they probably think I'm dead.

I agree completely. It's SOOO disappointing to log on to "Places" and not be able to secretly keep track of my friends...

I think facebook is essentially boring. and once you're friends with someone, every stupid thing they post goes up on your board.
I know some people like that, but it is a big nothing for me. I was hoping to have contact with old friends, but i actually have a life so I can't sit at the computer all day wading through all kinds of stuff i'm not interested in.

There it is in a nutshell. Except you forgot the part about how the friends you were curious about where they are now all join Farmsville and you realize you really have zero in common with them after 20 years.

what the he// is this "farmville." my sister-in-law is always sending messages about it.

There was a good reason I didn't stay friends with most of them, that's for sure!

FACEBOOK ITSELF is an incredibly BORING waste of time.

I agree.

It has some good aspects. I have reconnected with classmates that I haven't seen in 40 some years and family members use it. However, yes there is a lot negatives about it, no different than anything else in that matter.

Negatives like reconnecting with people you hated 40 years ago!!
