What a difference a month makes.
The MTA is mulling over a plan that would increase monthly MetroCard prices to $130. That's a $41 increase from their current cost, and significantly more than a plan circulated in July.
Reports the Daily News:
The MTA last month released a preliminary budget with much smaller proposed fares - including $104 for the monthly MetroCard and $29 for the weekly.
An MTA spokesman said the authority hasn't abandoned those proposals.
The new plan would also increase the prices of weekly cards from $27 to $38.
The MTA will hold public hearings in mid-September to discuss the proposed changes.
