Logan Morrison's Sick Father Tom Witnesses His Son's First Triple

AMAZING: Ill Father Takes 29-Hour Train, Sees Special Moment

Logan Morrison, Florida Marlins rookie, hit his first career triple in Wednesday night's game against the New York Mets. Morrison's father Tom, who is suffering from incurable lung cancer, was there to see his son play in the majors for the first time in person.

Doctors gave him permission to travel to New York City, according to the Miami Herald. However, he wasn't allowed to fly so he took a 29-hour train ride from Slidell, La.

Wednesday was Morrison's 23rd birthday.

"I know it means a lot to him just to come see me play,'' the 23-year-old said. "I know how much it means to him. He told me today it was surreal to see me play.''
