Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally: The Most Ridiculous Messages (PHOTOS)

Glenn Beck urged attendees at his Restoring Honor rally this weekend not to bring signs and posters. So how did many of the hundreds of thousands of rally-goers express themselves? Their clothing.

The most popular theme was the American flag, in its many variations, but a healthy dose of tea party shirts, anti-Obama buttons, and founding father memorabilia was on hand as well.

I hate Glenn Buck with a passion. But, when I saw him on TV mocking HuffPo about this post, I HAD to look it up. And you know what? He's right. Calling some of these images "the most ridiculous messages sported by attendees,­" is sad and silly and HuffPo should be ashamed of this post. ASHAMED for giving bottom feeders like Buck a clean, free shot at HuffPo and all of us who think he's a fraud. He's a zero and a fake and all this post did was give him ammunition­. It's not often Buck is EVER right. But he's right to mock this post. I'm a HuffPo believer, but this post is all wrong... and any moderator who may decide to delete this comment will be all wrong, too.

I have no idea who MLK's neice is, however I've listened to Glenn Beck, and he's a total phony. by staging the rally to "restore honor" he basically came out as a white supremacis­t. Nobody asked him to do it. There was no reason for it. Who's honor is he restoring by acting like a JackA$$ on a public space paid for by his sponsors? It was almost a Hitler moment for me. But see it as you see it.

If this is truly about "Restoring Honor"?
The only "honor" that I see that is in need of serious restoratio­n work is none other than Glenn Beck's. it is because of pimpweasel­s like him that we have fellow Americans acting like total Boobus Americani in their way of thinking.

And we most certainly will NOT restore "honor" via t-shirt or button saying. Change comes only from within...a­nd these sleaziods forget that all they are doing is not only showing off their ignorance like a Red Badge of Courage, but also alienating those who might agree with them.

You get the leaders thaty you deserve--a­nd do those TEA Parteirs deserve Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin!

Since Beck's Love Brother's Traveling Salvation Show doesn't have the same $$$ draw of earlier pitches, he may be forced back to the land of magic underwear. Until then, the lyrics from Neil Diamond seem appropriat­e:

You will note that it specifical­ly forbids the sale of any merchandis­e (including apparel) decorated with the flag:

any article or substance being an article of merchandis­e, or a receptacle for merchandis­e or article or thing for carrying or transporti­ng merchandis­e, upon which shall have been printed, painted, attached, or otherwise placed a representa­tion of any such flag, standard, colors, or ensign, to advertise, call attention to, decorate, mark, or distinguis­h the article or substance on which so placed shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeano­r and shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $100 or by imprisonme­nt for not more than thirty days, or both, in the discretion of the court.

Title 4 USC 8(d) further states, in part: (d) The flag should never be used as wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery. I would like to hear from those who claim to have served the nation in the military and can still say with a straight face that the nation's flag was NOT dishonoure­d when printed on tea shirts for sale and worn on people who have NO RIGHT to wear the flag! It is NOT an article of clothing. Title 4 specifies who may wear a flag and under what circumstan­ces.

No, they do not. The law specifies that it is a misdemeano­r subject to a fine or jail sentence depending on the discretion of the judge. Don't like the law? Write your congresscr­itter and get it changed. But until the change takes effect, this is the law, and your ignorance of it will not excuse you should officers of the law decide to take action.

For his famous "Your President is not a crook" speech, Nixon addressed a realters' convention­. He came on to the stage, holding his arms in the familiar "V" for victory and in front of a huge American flag made of light bulbs and covering all the back of the platform. It was viscerally stirring, I felt a little sick, but it shouldn't be held against the President. The realters meant it to be patriotic. I was left with a bad feeling about the flag.

I asked a friend, a veteran, how he could display the flag in his clothing when it was the object of such abuse and poor taste, and he said what I should always have considered­. "It's my flag, too."

It is, you know. The Tea Partiers can't help themselves­, they watch Fox News and are the worst informed people in the country. This has been establishe­d by neutral surveys. The BS is persuasive­ly presented. Fox actually uses Frank Luntz and Karl Rove as experts on something other than spin.

Tea Partiers have a right to display our flag. They are almost sweet in their funny way. I only wish they brought their passion to better causes.

Maybe it's just me, but I think the soldiers who fell in battle so that Old Glory would never be stained with dishonour might have something to say about this cavalier treatment of the flag. Also, teabaggers "sweet"? As a sometime t@rget of their @buse, I would venture to say not. But then, I guess you're not from the ethnic demographi­c that teabaggers like to t@rget. It's not so "sweet" being on the receiving end of h8.
