Meg Whitman Jury Duty: Governor's Race Can't Get Candidate Out of Serving

Governor's Race Doesn't Get Whitman Out Of Jury Duty

A tall blonde from Atherton showed up Monday afternoon for jury duty at the Hall of Justice and Records in Redwood City.

As is customary, a judge asked the woman -- along with dozens of other potential jurors -- whether there was anything he should know about her that would have an impact on a trial.

Yes, the woman replied: She was currently running for governor.

No fooling!

The potential juror was Republican Meg Whitman, the former CEO of eBay, who is locked in a brutal battle with Attorney General Jerry Brown to be California's next governor.
