I laughed so hard when I saw Dr. Thunder when I was getting groceries. People were staring at me probably thinking 'who's the weirdo laughing at soda?' hahahaha too funny!

ah yes, the ever popular "white" label scotch

We had Dr. Thunder growing up. My teenage friends and I liked it better than Dr. Pepper. It was present at every party. We called it "Dr. Thunder, Drink of the Gods." Seriously, it's really, really good.

I think he's a robot miner... he's mining the pebbles with his bedazzled jackhammer of HFCS justice.

My local grocery store, called Market Basket has the funniest generic names, my favorite is a Crispix type cereal called "Crispy Hexagons". That and "Tastes Like Butter" spread.

A generic supermarket I used to frequent sold a soda called "Bubba Cola". It had a red label, but the name was written in a style reminiscent of the Pepsi logo, and appropriately enough, the taste was a PERFECT blend of Pepsi and CocaCola.

Also, the Giant around here has a generic Mountain Dew called Mountain Lightning. Yeah, not fooling anybody there...

Why does the headline (always) include "of all time." What if there was another funniest generic product that not yet included? We all lost out then.

HP Headline FAIL.

Oh, HP and their epic headlines...

Just like the "brand names" it's about image. Most generics are equivalent or actually the exact same product under a different name. I have many generics that I buy regularly over any "brand name" products.

"All Time" has officially ended, we are on borrowed time.

Where can I buy the scotch and gin. I won't drink it because it will probably taste like rotgut, but I'd love to dispense my Johnny Walker and Tanqueray from those bottles. Priceless!

You might try a sticky paper, (sold at your local Staples) and you can print some. That would get the attention of your friends. I would like to know what image does to their perception of the quality.
03:58 PM on 09/07/2010
That's an idea. As for the perception of quality - They know me, so the know I don't chintz out on the alcohol. Now if someone brings a guest, I wonder if they would comment of the quality. Hmmm. I feel an experiment coming on...

Generic spam makes me sad :(

I'm pretty sure at that point, it's just cat food

...spam for dinner makes me sad. For a "real" cat food feel, try Armour Deviled Ham in the can.
