Chris Robinson: Taylor Swift Is 'Horrible,' Not Talented

Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson, 43, had harsh words for Taylor Swift, 20, in an interview with Nylon Guys magazine (via E!).

Robinson, said of Swift's music: "I find it embarrassing that adults are like, 'Taylor Swift is very talented.' She's not. She might be cute, but she's horrible," he told the magazine.

He then ranted about packaged artists.

'They have stylists who dress them, they make records with producers who play a chord into the computer and it all comes out the same...When you have computers doing it all for you...there's no individuality. Singing isn't always about being on key; it's about emotionality.'

I liked the Black Crowes but Chris is hardly the most talented singer out there. Having said that, he is right. Taylor can't sing at all. She's quite pretty but, boy oh boy, she cannot carry a tune in a bucket.

Now, I understand that people are passionate about music and we all have varying tastes and so forth..
But what is it about lil' Taylor Swift that makes grown men think it's ok for them to attack her?
She is still quite young and even though I really don't care for her music, I don't think she's caused anyone any harm.
Her presence in the music industry and hence popular culture is quite benign, when compared to the Britney's of the world. If it wasn't for Kanye's 'incident'­, I probably wouldn't even know who she was!

Like I said, don't like her music, but I am baffled as to why she keeps attracting this kind of backlash from within the industry.

In fairness to computer compositio­n, Radiohead has made 2-3 albums using almost nothing but computer compositio­n that are better than anything the Black Crowes have ever done. Of course, Radiohead has Johnny Greenwood.

They give out Grammy awards like wheat. They are meaningles­s today. At some point, whatever the club, so many people have been let in that they are no longer exclusive. This is happening with with the Rock and Roll hall of fame, the Academy Awards etc. Mediocrity rules!
