Colorado Springs Bears Killed After Entering Home
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — For the second time in a week, state wildlife officers have killed a mother bear and cubs in Colorado Springs, Colo., that broke into a home.
The Gazette in Colorado Springs reports that the mother bear and two cubs were euthanized Thursday after entering the home. A woman cleaning the kitchen says she was surprised by a cub and then saw the mother bear outside. The woman escaped through a window.
Michael Seraphin of the Colorado Division of Wildlife says the bears were coaxed out of the house then tranquilized and euthanized.
Wildlife officers euthanized a bear and two cubs that entered another Colorado Springs home Tuesday. They say bears that break into homes have to be killed because they'll likely enter other homes for food.
