Dating site Match.com has used data on online activity between June and August to rank the top 10 cities for online dating in the U.S. (Fun fact: according to Match.com, Labor Day "is historically one of the most active days online.")

Online dating is very creepy.....

Another subject for an article might be how so many people, especially men, are opting for hiring escorts at sites like adultnotes.com, and escorts.com, rather than hassle with true relationships. Our world has become where time is money in the true sense and execs especially don't have time to invest in a real relationship.

I assume online dating works but I've never met anyone online, and I've tried hard. When you actually tell the truth as I do you meet no one. I got to guess all the women there that say they are tired of meeting guys in bars are actually looking for the same guys they meet in bars i.e tall, good looking, player but they just want to meet them in different venue. When your average looking and 5'7" and looking to meet someone serious, you are screwed. Take it from a man that's looked for 3 years. Life is hell for us and that's that. Well, that was an epic rant. I should chance my name to "lonely in Jacksonville,Fl". LOL Good luck all you lonely hearts.

If the list was made based on population what is the big deal. If it is based on percentage of people who use such services I guess it makes sense as well as it can be hard to meet people in a big city.

Living in Chicago I have met a lot of folks online. In fact, I learned this from UK and Japan when I lived there, as many international counties tend to date online than most. People are very busy, I’m on my computer hours and days on end, and I just don't meet folks because I work at home a lot! LOL So, 128 Million Japanese do it, along with Europe, I say we are in good company. I’m meet the hottest guys online, and yes I have a proven system. Personal note, I wouldn’t use Match.com, if it was the last dating service on earth. First, why pay; also why pay them, so they can match you up with people you will never date! I have very different tastes than who they think I should be spending my social hour with.

Yeah, that's not, uh, Houston. That's Dallas.

Duh, they're the biggest cities in America. Of course they're the best--more variety. Do people get paid for this?

Oh, puleeze......

Online dating is a total waste of time.

Doesn't work.

And I MOST CERTAINLY have realized that
it's DEFINITELY NOT worth paying some
monthly fee for it! Ack..... never, never, never.

Waste of time....never helped at all.

fanned... it is certainly a waste of time and good money.

1/2 the people on it deserve to be institutionalized immediately..

It's a game and if you analyze the numbers (people who don't belong to these sites anymore, people who say they're one thing, and turnout to be another, those that are looking for George Clooney, Dane Cook, Denzel Washington, and Olivier Martinez) you'll see that it's completely hyped..

Yeah me too. Although Dallas and Houston have bigger populations, the people in Austin are so much more friendly and outgoing.

Where's Philly? Could it be that Philadelphians have more sense than to go on Match.com? OKCupid is much better, and free ;)
