Isidore Phillip Tisson Dead

NEW YORK — Members of a St. Lucian soccer team played in remembrance of a slain teammate as they took the field for a final match in a New York City tournament.

Isidore Phillip Tisson was shot to death while the team was out celebrating early Aug. 30. He had scored the winning goal that pushed his team into the finals of the Digicel Caribbean Cup. It's an annual showcase for Caribbean talent.

The team went on to lose 1-0 to Jamaica on Sunday, but members fought hard and honored their slain teammate. He went by Phillip.

The New York Times reported that Tisson's father was at the game, cheering on the team. NYPD detectives are still investigating the shooting. Tisson was in a car after being out a club when a gunman shot him in the head.

Senseless, and some of the worst of it is he was maybe shot for looking like someone else or for nothing. I guess sitting in a car while "Black" will get you killed on the East coast as fast as it does out here in the West, Jesus.

Someone exercising their 2nd Amendment rights, no doubt.

They probably had the gun illegally, so they had no rights in having the gun in the first place.

Of course they had the handgun illegally; they're banned throughout all of New York.

My condolences to his family and friends.

Isidore Phillip Tisson is another victim of the Well Unregulated Militia.

Yeah, just imagine if none of the law-abiding populous had guns. Then the only people who would have them would be the government and criminals. Do you think if they outlaw guns we would live in some kind of criminal-free utopia?

That is a truly trite reply.
Who said anything about banning guns?
I'm not looking for argument, try someone else.

Guns and criminals are a dangerous mix. When will we learn?
10:20 PM on 09/06/2010
Americans don't usually learn from their mistakes. When Americans, like Natalie Holloway, are murdered in foreign countries, a big deal is made of their murders and people in the countries in which they are murdered are ridiculed. When people from other countries are murdered in the U.S., very little attention is paid to the murders.

Brilliant observation. Obvious really, but still, I never thought of it that way.

Yes, and most guns used by criminals are either stolen from those law-abiding citizens or are the product of straw purchases. Hope you're happy with the company you keep.
