Venus Williams' U.S. Open Outfit: Short, Skimpy & Pink (PICTURES)

Venus Williams' latest U.S. Open outfit is drawing plenty of attention. The tennis superstar showed up at the Grand Slam event Sunday in a skimpy pinkish red outfit -- hardly the first time she has made waves with her on-court clothing. And in May, Williams' lacy French Open outfit was the subject of much conversation.

"This outfit was supposed to be about New York. It's like bursts of fireworks," she said of her latest selection.

Williams won the match, earning a spot in the tournament's quarterfinals. Scroll down for photos. What do you think of the outfit?

I think that Venus should wear whatever she wants to wear. People get a little carried away when they see other people on television in what they think is inappropriate. What if someone saw you in your everyday work clothes and said they were inappropriate? Would you change your entire wardrobe based on that comment? If you would, then to each it's own. However, isn't it all left up to ones personal choice? What's good for one isnt necessarily good for all. My thought is if it annoys you that much, stop watching. As long as she's comfortable in it, who cares what you think...

What I couldn't understand is why she would want to wear an outfit she had to continuously tug at to keep it covering her butt and not hiked up around her waist. It was a nuisance, it seemed. You'd think a professional player, playing for those stakes, would want as few extraneous distractions as possible.

It looks like a two piece swim suit. Get a life woman. There is more class than this skimpy sequined boudoir clothing. Anyway who plays wearing sequins? Unless you are trying to sell something.

Venus is a mythical athlete and has passion and personality...it hardly matters the clothes. If all pro athletes would have her resilient passion for their sport and for life, we could leave politics and embrace sports as the people's best icon of the era. She is an amazing soul.

In most of these photos it looks more like a blouse than a dress. I was distracted by her constantly tugging it down throughout the entire match, and I should think she herself, would have been even more distracted by it. One can make a fashion statement with a great deal more taste and finesse. In the future, I would love to see this extraordinarily gifted athlete dressed in more appealing and game-worthy attire on the court.

Seriously wmary you don't see the difference between a tacky looking, ill fitting outfit and a good looking outfit which fits. Where do you do your shopping? I'm with you GailD, Venus has not been setting any fashion trends lately!! Her attire is very annoying!

So a little blond girl wears a dress that doesn't cover her behind (but she's wearing shorts as many put it) is being fashion forward, bold and daring but a black woman who wears a dress that covers her behind(and is wearing shorts as well) but happens to ride up when she place is a classless and disgusting. I see how it is on the Huffington Post.

You have a strange taste in fashion that's all I've got to say. Watch Housewives of New Jersey and DC and you will find the same bad taste in fashion in white women. It has nothing to do with race. I don't mind Venus, but her outfits are atrocious. Not only bad but very annoying.
