'Classy Awards' Recognize Local Volunteers, Nonprofits In Cities Across The Country

The social fundraising platform for nonprofits StayClassy will recognize local volunteers and nonprofits in eight cities across the country for the 2nd Annual Classy Awards. Organizers hope to raise awareness about individuals and organizations making a difference in their communities.

From August 1 until September 17, Americans will get the chance to nominate any charity, business or individual they believe has made an impact. The top five finalists, per category, from each city, will be announced on October 9. After the announcement, voters can help select each category's winner.

Finalists will be recognized for their charitable contribution and a grand prize of $25,000 will be given to the winner of 'Charity of the Year.'

A partnership with NBC affiliate stations in each of the participant cities -- Boston, Chicago, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New York City, San Diego, San Francisco and Washington D.C. -- is supporting the awards, encouraging local communities to participate.
