Baby Carrots Get An EXTREME Advertising Campaign (VIDEOS)

First Posted: 09/09/10 03:52 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:35 PM ET

Think fast: can you name a commercial for vegetables? No? Neither could we until we saw CP+B's EXTREME "Eat 'Em Like Junk Food" commercial for baby carrots. One in a series, this ad features an "extreme impossible stunt" by a guy in a jet-propelled grocery cart who successfully catches a baby carrot "bullet" in his mouth (the carrot shoots from a carrot-fueled machine gun). Screeching metal guitar, a hot redhead and a pterodactyl also make an appearance.

Will this hard-edged commercial convince you to choose carrots over chips? We don't know for sure, but it's hilarious nonetheless.

About 99% of the carrots sold as baby carrots aren't "baby " carrots at all. They are actually large carrots cut in sections and put through an abrasive wash to diminish their size . They are then packaged and sold as baby carrots. real baby carrots are much smaller and actually much more tender and tasty. Actually , the fake baby carrots packaged as baby carrots today are not as sweet and tender as full size carrots peeled and quartered. The sweetness and tastiness of the carrot is derived from the outer part that is ground down and thrown away, or used for juice purposes. So, paradoxically you get a more tasty and tender carrot by eating full sized carrots peeled and quartered than you do with the ones marketed as "baby' carrots, but that are not really baby carrots. Also, the carrot with the peel on keeps much better and longer than the ones with the skins removed, which start to decay soon after. Often you find these on sale slightly slimy when you open them.,

Um...news flash. I eat carrot chips with ranch just like I would chips and dip. They're pretty good too actually.

Note to self: add carrots to grocery list.

Refreshingly stupid, yet oddly amusing. I was enthralled...wake up the dead, a must see for everyone. Then imagine if this were a Tampon commercial.

Kinda dumb, but actually I like it, it's like a parody of all the extreme candy commercials, maybe it might make kids want to eat carrots for a change

I want to see commercials for vegetables and other healthy foods on the children's channels. Bring back the dancing raisins, add some dancing almonds. I want 1 minutes commercials focused on eating right (remember the history 1 minutes-I can't remember what channel-but they were great) and exercise.

If anything, our government could finance these commercials, and/or large insurances like non profit Kaiser Permanente, or large hospitals. Make the commercials eye catching and entertaining and funny. We can do better for our children.

This commercial is absolutely great. Hokey in a funny way. Great attention getter.

I wish I wasn't allergic to the enzymes in raw carrots. They make my throat burn. I can only have them cooked. Sigh.

I've had an allergic reaction to raw carrots that scared me. Thought I was being good eating them for a snack. The green part at the top appears to be the culprit for me. I just don't eat the top 1 inch. But I HATE cooked carrots.

For me, it seems to be any part of the carrot. I do like them roasted along with potatoes and parsnips with a chicken. But I have to be careful with salads and that sort of thing.

Carrots have some fiber, so they're good for making your poops come out nice and solid, without having to wipe much.

Would that make a good commercial? Maybe if it were done with cartoon bears.

Chlorine soak carrots that started off as big nasty carrots that couldn't be sold are not babies.
