Average SAT scores in Illinois dropped across all subjects for the class of 2010, but there was good news too: The graduates showed they could outwrite their peers nationally.
Illinois posted the highest average score in the country on the essay portion of the SAT college admissions test in writing, tied with Connecticut, Michigan and Minnesota, according to results released this morning by the College Board.
