Weezer & Gregory Brothers Auto-Tune Rangel, Weiner (VIDEO)

If you want to destroy Charlie Rangel's sweater, why not bring venerable alt-rockers Weezer into the orbit of the 'Auto-Tune The News' crew, and let loose?

In a neat bit of synergy, timed with tomorrow's release of Hurley, Weezer's eighth studio album, Rivers Cuomo and company lay down a facile bit of power-pop so that Auto Tune The News can poke fun of recent history's most emo moments -- Charlie Rangel's epic "Song Of My Self-Defense," Anthony Weiner's House floor anger aria, and President Barack Obama's car-keys-ditch metaphor for American life.

just like all of the other ATTN, this one takes a few listens to process and get used to.

i wasn't a fan of this one at all. then i listened to it a few times and listened to the chordal progressions and beat. now i can't get it out of my head :)

I don't know why people hate Weezer's inclusion, I thought the Rangel bit was awesomely catchy. And LOL forever at the President's parting words!!!

I believe that this specific "Auto-tune The News" is the Jumping The Shark moment.

When you stop being creative and start adding guests like Weezer, you have played the hand of creatively bankrupt. The star is waning, sadly.

Just like Hova said: Auto Tune is Dead.

It's been done before... It was funny and original the first time some guy on Youtube autotuned the news... Joke's over everyone! It stopped being funny after the 10th guy did it!

I used to like Autotune the news. But I think they are going to begin guest starring more famous singers and cashing in. I notice a decrease in quality from such. Its too crowded with guests when you do that and there is less attention on the content of the jokes. I click to see the NEWS autotuned not the guests and the merchandise! I'm guessing I will be tuning out of the autotuning the news thing unless the trend reverses itself.

I know these take some time to put together, but I want more! Auto-tune the news every week! I know you can do it Gregory Brothers (and Sarah, who has an awesome voice by the way), you pumped out your biggest hit, the "Bedroom Intruder" song, in just a couple of days.

Totally agree. Comedy Central should fund the Auto-Tune-the-News crew to do a weekly news recap. My musician friends whine about how it's not real music but come on, it's hilarious, and makes the news so much more palatable!
