'Eastbound And Down' Trailer Makes Second Season Look Promising (VIDEO)

First Posted: 09/14/10 02:41 PM ET Updated: 05/25/11 06:40 PM ET

The much anticipated second season of Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's hilarious HBO comedy "Eastbound And Down" is finally almost here, and today the first trailer featuring actual footage from the show was released. Previously, all we really knew about this new season is that it would pick up where season one left off, with its defunct baseball star Kenny Powers (Danny McBride) driving away from everyone he knows and loves.

We had already heard that the second season is set in Mexico, which is definitely confirmed in the trailer below, but a few other things are confirmed that make us even more excited for the show's September 26 premiere. First, Kenny gets corn rows. At some point he shoots a gun, he obviously joins a Mexican baseball league, and he definitely participates in a cock fight. We can't wait to find out more! HP writers certainly like to use this word "Amazing" for things that aren't. Wait first it looked amazing now it's down to promising?

I just can't get into this show. I've hated Danny McBride since before most people even knew who he was.
03:20 PM on 09/15/2010
Wow, you've hated him for at least 2-3 years now?

As much as I loved the first series I was sort of hoping they would end the show. The first series worked so well as a tragi-comic mini-series that I can't imagine anything else will live up to it. It will quickly become any other silly sitcom.

I am a little worried too. I think they may end up tarnishing the first season if this one is silly.
12:27 PM on 09/15/2010
Agreed - I am very concerned that the supporting cast from season 1 will have no role in season 2, which will be a major blow to the series.

I hear Stevie will be coming back to the show. Easily the second best character behind only Kenny Powers himself

I relocated my RV to a park that offers free HBO just in time for Real Time. Guess I'll try this show too.

What a wild, bold, brave, effed-up show! Would subscribe to HBO if only I didn't have to buy 300 other channels of pppppppoooooooooooppppppp. Why haven't Cable companies adopted an "á la carte" menu for channels yet? Who wouldn't go for a menu-only approach to buying TV? I don't need or want home-shopping, faith-based programming, fake news, or a constant glut of soda commercials in my home. If cable companies charged me, I don't know, eight bucks a month for HBO, eight for Showtime, and 35-cents each for commercial channels, I would be much more inclined to get a package from them. However 60 bucks a month for all of that, just to be inundated with commercials encouraging me to buy X is a freaking rip-off.

Guess I'll just wait for the DVD...

Me too. Had to cancel the HBO it wasn't worth the cash waiting for a new series that lasts 6 shows and then wait another 2 years for more.

Only a few cable channels would actually make enough money to survive. They need to bundle the them to allow the others to survive so they can charge you more money.
