My daughter I am ashamed to say didnt vote. She chose to do laundry. I told her if she does not vote in november dont talk politics or policy with me because she gives up that right. I told her when you dont vote, and dont serve in some capacity you are not acting as a citizen. You must do one, the other or both. No matter what your party participation in your government is the responsibility of every  Read More...

Let's not forget that only 16% of registered Republicans voted in Delaware, Dems and Independents did not vote. So, we know nothing until after the November elections. All this rejoicing by conversatives are premature. Stop with the scared tactics, please.

No big surprise. With over 25 millions out of work and losing their homes, farms, stores and life savings, it's how to be a loyal Democrat when Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have done nothing to help the economy and create jobs. Instead, they have given millions of our taxpayer dollars to Wall Street, the Banks, and all their financial supporters.

In this case, it appears that teabaggers recognized fellow neanderthals, hence the overwhelming rethuglickan turnout.

14 Sept 2010: seething rage among the electorate turns into seething outrage at years of arrogant and tyrannical Social Democrats and dismissive disgust at Republican accommodators to the transformation of America to an overweening social democratic state.

This marks the beginning of the end of the social democratic state.

I guess it's just a coincidence that we have our first black president and the GOP is turning out for the primaries. Just a coincidence.
10:27 AM on 09/15/2010
Clinton got the same treatment.

It is a coincidence. It is not a coincidence that he is the most liberal president ever elected.

If it is a blow out why is Karl rove saying the republicans that are Tea party candidates likely to lose their respective elections?
10:17 AM on 09/15/2010
Karl Rove has his opinion. He has been wrong in the past. Watch the delaware polls in the coming weeks. It's going to be a race afterall.
10:21 AM on 09/15/2010
Not what he said. He said the Del. race will be lost.

The only blowout is the collapse of thirty years of conservative repugliKKKan lies and illusions
fed to the alienated go-getters and upper income manic depressives.
They are the ones who are tripping.

Nothing to do with color. Clinton faced the same thing. Most of the country is conservative.

I think the GOP is fighting for it's soul right now so the turnout makes sense. It's super sad to see moderation become an insult amongest my Republican friends... As the Tea Party Brown shirts come up with the ludicrous policy ideas...

The Republican Party will either change it's "soul" from perennial accommodaters of the social democratic state to repealers of it or the party's "soul" will be repealed and replaced.

This date marks the beginning of the end for accommodation to the social democratic state.

HOW MANY TIMES, and over HOW MANY YEARS have Dems been warned about drifting away from their base, and their distinguishing principles?

The Democratic party of today, is the Republican party of 30 years ago... only more compromised, corporatist and anti-democratic.

WE WANT OUR PARTY BACK.

The reason so many turned out may be attributed to so many of them are now unemployed and they have seen that their party zuks and are voting for the teabuggers.

Unemployment is 9.5%? Unemployment at the peak of the so called booms in the 90's was at 4.5%? That is a difference of 5% of the working force or about 7.5 million people.....roughly. The voters are turning out in much larger numbers than that.

Unemployment has nothing to do with it, fact is in many races there is no viable candidate running against the incumbent Dem so why turn out. The real issue is what happen to moderate Republicans and why did they not turn out?

Take this as an early warning sign, if Dems decide to sit on their laurels Nov could be a disaster for them. It doesn't matter all that much that some of the candidates on the GOP side are radical Tea Partiers who aren't supported by a majority of voters. If Dems sit at home come November, they will lose, since most election results could have gone the other way if not for the millions who sit at home and let others decide their political fate. It doesn't take a majority to win congress, it just takes a more dedicated and mobilized base and Dems should realize that before its too late.

I know, lets not prepare for possibilities, only certainties. If its not sure to happen, its not worth discussing. I mean, why warn about something that probably wont happen? Its not like we teach kids fire drills because we all know most buildings dont catch on fire.
