UFOs 'On The Record': Original Drawings From Eyewitness Accounts (PHOTOS)

First Posted: 09/14/10 08:00 AM ET   Updated: 08/18/11 02:22 PM ET

Last month, journalist Leslie Kean revealed shocking testimonials from government officials about unexplained behavior by unknown objects in the sky over many decades.

Kean's book, the New York Times bestseller "UFOs: Generals, Pilots and Government Officials Go On the Record" includes a foreword by John Podesta and first-person accounts written by over a dozen military and aviation witnesses and official investigators from around the world.

A Huffington Post slide show from last month provides useful background for this batch of new information, which focuses on original witness drawings, and the importance they play in UFO investigations, particularly when similar features are depicted in different locations and at different times.

What do you think about the credibility of the accounts? And what, if anything, have you seen?

In the chapter he wrote for “UFOs,” Airline Captain JĂșlio Miguel Guerra relives his lengthy encounter with a highly active UFO while serving as a flight instructor for the Portuguese Air Force in 1982. He writes: “At various times the object had been very close to me and I was able to verify that it was round with two halves shaped like two tight-fitting skullcaps. I carefully looked at the lower one, which seemed to be somewhere between red and brown with a hole or dark spot in the center. The center band looked like it had some kind of a grid, and possibly a few lights, but it was hard to tell since the sun was so bright and was reflected.” The object circled his small airplane for 15 minutes while he was alone in the sky, in his DHC-1 Chipmunk. He made this drawing the day after the encounter and submitted it with his report to the Portuguese Air Force. (JĂșlio Guerra, CNIFO Case Report)

Most of the UFO stuff in print or online is kinda farcical...a lot of 'true believers' are their own worst enemy when it comes to providing convincing, compelling evidence. At the moment, most of the UFO 'information' is on a par with theology or comparative angelology--impressive body of 'work,' unimpressively short on substance. Not saying I totally disbelieve...but not a believer, either.

Cutting through the crap can be a little time consuming, but there are some truly compelling cases and government responses.

Aliens are real. They need to come down and save this world with technology and organization.
11:47 PM on 09/15/2010
The aliens have no wish to remain a secret. However, they have no wish to interfere in the affairs on the earth and make the revelation themselves. They would like the governments of the world (mainly the US or the UN) make the announcement. They will not reveal themselves unless they are invited to do so by the governments of the world (the US has so far refused). For info on why the US does not want the aliens/ufos revealed, see www.ufocoverup.org

#1 looks like something me and my sister saw in March 1974 just after dusk.
It hovered over our neighborhood for a few seconds, became a streak of light heading to the south. Gone instantly.
A big reddish area in the middle that oscillated bright/dim a few times.
And covered in tiny sparkly lights, like a sparse static, TV static sparkliness.
My brother's soon-to-be wife saw us looking up, walked outside only in time to see the streak of light.
The end. :\

The king of undisputed testimony from military personnel and pilots comes from The Disclosure Project. The bottom line is that not only are we not alone, but there is strong evidence that extraterrestrials have the capacity to neutralize weapon systems that deliver nuclear bombs.

If sentient beings exist in the universe it is not here on earth.

There is probably a beacon in space warning people away from a wildlife refuge where observers hope someday sentience will emerge. Dolphins look promising.

I like dolphins too but no dolphin figured out evolution or relativity or could write music like Beethoven or paint like Monet. I think its so boring to just whine about how awful humans are. Yes, we have done terrible things. We have also done wonderful things. It is much more positive to dwell on the good things and try to do something to reverse the bad then to just whine about how we are all evil.

I don't see how calling someone boring and a whiner is keeping things "positive". And by the way, all the great things that you want to site as human achievements, less than 1/100 of one percent of the species are responsible for those "positives". The rest of us are just cavemen along for the ride. But if you want to live your life believing otherwise, feel free. May your glass be half full... half full of backwash.

An unidentified aerial phenomenon (UAP) is the visual stimulus that
provokes a sighting report of an object or light seen in the sky, the
appearance and/or flight dynamics of which do not suggest a logical,
conventional flying object and which remains unidentified after close
scrutiny of all available evidence by persons who are technically
capable of making both a full technical identification as well as a
common-sense identification, if one is possible. (Haines, Pp. 13-22,
1980)

Drawings? Hey, I'm convinced! After all, was it not Gen. Colin Powell who took drawings to the U.N. to convince the world that Saddam had WMDs?

There is alot more evidence than drawings sweetheart.

Many of those "drawings" were supported by radar evidence and multiple witnesses... a drawing and a statement under oath is enough to get a man executed or put away for decades... ignorance of evidence is evidence of ignorance...

"A teaser? Teasers are usually rich kids with nothing to do. They cruise around
looking for planets which haven't made interstellar contact yet and buzz them."
"Buzz them?" Arthur began to feel that Ford was enjoying making life difficult
for him.
"Yeah,' said Ford, 'they buzz them. They find some isolated spot with very few
people around, then land right by some poor unsuspecting soul whom no one's ever
going to believe and them strut up and down in front of him wearing silly antennae
on their head and making beep beep noises. Rather childish really."

The way we're going all by ourselves, it won't be such a tragedy if we were suddenly taken over by an alien system.
But I would miss the bad old days and how we were sçrewing up the world our own adorable way.

I'd say that if you look closely and objectively at the McMinnville, OR photos from the early 1950s, the Belgian photos from the early '90s and yes, even the films of bell-shaped craft taken by George Adamski and others, it's apparent that the UFO phenomenon is real--regardless of anyone's personal feelings on the matter. Not every UFO photograph depicts a child's toy or some other object bobbing around at the end of a wire. By no means does it follow that unidentified flying objects are spacecraft from other worlds, but surely, at this point, we can stop being so smug and pretending that UFOs are only figments of unstable imaginations.
If these objects exist--if they have physical substance and can be photographed, as they obviously do and have been--then we can figure out what they are. Let's get serious, and stop tittering about little green men from Mars and Cletus and anal probes.

Here is one case that I know was real. I knew the people involved very well and they were not anything close to having overactive imaginations. Further, I know other people including myself that saw things in the same area that were not reported. In fact I never told anyone of the one sighting I had until I was in my 50's. What I saw was probably some kind of exploratory device which was only about 3 - 4 feet in diameter. When I first saw the orange glow late at night, I thought it was a barn fire. When I finally came to where it was it was, it was a sphere traveling very slowly across a corn field that had already been harvested and was about 3 feet off the ground. I stopped and watched it for a few minutes and then felt afraid and left. I have never forgotten it. Below is a link to an article about another sighting in the same time period. The second link is to one with many photographs. Too bad we didn't have cell phones then as I could have taken a picture or called someone.
