Dennis Crowley & Naveen Selvadurai
1 of 9
Changed the game by ... adding a sense of place to cyberspace. Crowley and Selvaduri are the co-founders of Foursquare, the location-based social networking app that allows people to tell the rest of the world precisely where they are. The start-up, sparked by an idea Crowley had a decade ago while studying at NYU, is on the shopping list of nearly every major tech company, as it adds nearly 100,000 users a week and kicks off competitions for "mayor" (most loyal visitor) of practically every coffee shop and skate park in America. It has harnessed the power of social networking to turn the world into a giant roach motel: everybody "checks in," maybe makes a new friend or gets some free food from the vendor nearby, and they never check out.

All the right enemies: It's no coincidence that Facebook launched "Places" in the same year that Foursquare became a serious social-media draw. The interesting part? All the publicity for “Places” sent sign-ups skyrocketing for Foursquare, bringing it to the 3 million user mark earlier than expected.

SeeClickFix is a valuable community resource that is paid attention to by neighborhood groups, councilmembers, etc. in the City/County of Denver. I'm sure other cities are using it to keep track of problems. It is valuable and helpful.

Those adorable dorks who came up with SquareSpace should be lynched. I was furious to find out FaceBook decided to pinpoint my location without asking me first. It's another one of those "hamburger for your identity" swaps that makes social media an infuriating TRAP.

See Click Fix is one of the best online community resources there is. We use it fairly often and it DOES get things fixed.

Is there any doubt at all that it's Steve Jobs? Come on people. Two of these other "game changers" wouldn't even exist without the iPhone.

Steve Jobs is hard to beat as ultimate Game changer in Tech. The exponential rise in share holder value in Apple stock speaks for itself. Good news should be that Jobs is not finished yet!

The terrible news is he's not finished yet. When he's done it'll be impossible to innovate in technology without paying him a royalty.
