23 Best Airline Commercials EVER (VIDEO)

Back in flying's heyday, everything from the flight to the commercials for the flight looked better. The commercials were sometimes cheesy (check out the videos from the 1980s) and sometimes endearing.

Now, since flying has become such a hassle, airlines are rejiggering their formulas and providing funny and even deliberately-over-the-top commercials to engage audiences and make them want to fly again.

We trolled through hundreds of commercials and found some of the best. The most ridiculous (check out Australian Airlines' ad or even the famously risqué Avianova commercial), most endearing, funniest (hello, Virgin Atlantic!) commercials are in our roundup.

Loved the British Airways advert, but it is not the funniest one produced by BA.

The absolute funniest has to be the one with Pam Ann as a Flight Attendant in training!

No list of best commercials for any product or service would be complete without one of the brilliant Stan Freberg's commercials In fact, I recall an ad campaign he did for Pacific Airlines that played on the fear of flying and one TV ad for United Airlines that employed dancing airplanes, with female legs--"higher girls, higher." His Jeno's Pizza Roll ads are classic.

There used to be a great little airline in CA called PSA (Pacific Southwest Airlines).
I got a badge from a very pretty "stewardess" in 1967. The badge said; PSA "Pure, Sober and Available."
Needless to say, I flew for $29 LAX to SFO a lot in those days.

I never saw Stewardesses (miniskirts and gogo boots) like that. And I never got free cocktails. Is this what they mean by the good old days?
