John Roberts Snaps At Kiran Chetry Live On-Air: 'Would You Mind Not Doing That While I'm Talking?'

John Roberts had a testy live exchange with his "American Morning" co-host Kiran Chetry last week—while he was conducting an interview (h/t Mediaite).

The CNN anchor was starting an interview with senior Obama adviser David Axelrod when something the viewers couldn't see--due to the split screen, Chetry's face was not visible --clearly distracted him. He proved to be so distracted by what was going on next to him that he couldn't finish his first question to Axelrod, instead asking Chetry to stop whatever it was she was doing.

"Would you mind not doing that while I'm talking? Thank you, I appreciate that," he said, as Axelrod waited. "If you don't mind."

Chetry did not respond.

Did any one think that the reason she did not respond was because he was not speaking to her? Perhaps he was speaking to a crew member moving around, a cue card guy shuffling cards, a grip rearranging cables or set pieces or any number of other things going on in that room during a broadcast.
Why is it we need to make drama out of the mundane?

Kiran Chetry is a ruthless climber.

I remember watching her on local TV in Sacramento when she ridiculed a co-anchor reporter for talking too slowly.

I have no doubt she was trying to sabotage John Roberts and he called her on it.
