This summer everyone we knew seemed to be having problems with ants in the house. My mother heard of putting a cinnamon trail along the foundation of the house outside, so we tried it and voila! No ants this season. It's nice to not have to rely so much on the insect poison; I always get nervous with that stuff around children and the house pets.

Yes it is weak. What really irked me was the following statement paraphrased for brevity.
"Hirasa and Mitsuo Takemasa suggest that the reason why wasabi is traditionally consumed with sushi is because it numbs the nose to the scent of raw fish."

Good sushi uses fresh fish that should not smell offensive at all. If it does don't eat it, it's gone bad. Wasabi is just an essential part of the overall experience of eating good sushi and sashimi along with good quality soy sause and pickled ginger.

The article seemed alittle weak on actual useage. They didn't mention alot of herbs can be put in your bath water. Fennel is good for a hangover, it helps to detoxifiy the body, rosemary has good qualities in the bath, chickweed can reduce itching and is an emollient to the skin. The Ancient Romans added alot of herbs to their bathing experience, they didn't use soap as much as we do today. They would take a sweat, then scrap the sweat off and go into a scented bath.

It is a bit like prunes. They are touted for their "medicinal" effects more often than because they taste good. We at Juliet Mae Spices believe spices can not only taste good, they can actually improve the flavor of all kinds of meats AND vegetables. I think people should try some really fresh spices as a food enhancer. Who knows, maybe good fresh spices might actually get eaten before they got old enough to use as a foot powder...
